The Preservation of the Japanese Dog (development)

Over a year, a cast of colourful characters compete on Japan’s traditional dog show circuit, aiming for the national finals and the glory of winning the Prime Minister’s Trophy for best-bred dog. They’re not interested in tricks or cute puppies: this is about hours of hard training to create the physically perfect dog: a tradition rooted in the politics of the 1930s.
